Artwork description
The painting was inspired by emotions related to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2014. I was just starting my painting adventure, but I can admit—this is my first complete oil painting.
On this occasion, I would like to share a story. Since the company I worked for trade with Ukraine, I was then asked to go to the airport to pick up a Ukrainian citizen who was moving with his family to Poland from the vicinity of Mariupol. I remember how with tears in his eyes he told me about the village where he had an oil mill. About people killed on the roads, about his employees lying in the street. Dozens were murdered without a rational cause. Ukraine asked Poland for military support, and in those years it was mainly about Polish military surplus.
