Artwork description

Original wet plate photography on glass, part of the series NOX SANCTUM where I explored occult themes. Inspired by tarot, jungian archetypes and hermetic symbols i created my on religious ikons of sort.

The collodion side is covered in asphalt (like they did it 150 years ago) and the image is viewed through the glass, providing a scratch resistant surface. Framed and ready in a hand made mahogany frame, as you can see in the second picture this frame has been damaged slightly by fire. You see, this series was once displayed inside an old oil cistern lit only by candles, as part of a ritual inside a post-apocalyptic larp, and someone handled it a bit too close to the flame. I could fix it, but I won’t.
