Italy, born 1973
Antonio De Blasi is an italian artist, a draftman, who loves the sea and the human figure, he represents the human figure in realistic and surreal form. De Blasi combine elements that recall the nature to the human figure. His current production goes in this direction. His artistic research focuses on the study of sign and form, the study of darkness, uses few colors that vibrate only thanks to the proximity of black. He does not paint or use brushes, he only uses pencils or crayons.
Antonio De Blasi collaborates as an illustrator with some Italian publishing houses, he creates illustrations for books, this allows him to work alongside editors, writers, poets and journalists; the comparison with these figures has been fundamental over the years for his artistic growth.
De Blasi loves solitude that considers essential element for drawing. The figures of his paintings are the portrait of his solitude, his artwork is the portrait of his solitude, with these assumptions born his creatures.
