David Egan Biography

David Michael Egan was born in Pueblo, Colorado.  He developed a love for mark and image making from a very early age, before he was in school.  As a young child he loved to create the unseen from whatever was around him, preferring to work in black, white and occasionally red until adulthood.

David's maternal Grandfather, who was an inventor, archeologist and painter, told David of his Uncle who had passed when he was just 3; he was in several films, including one of Davey's favorites,  The Crimson Ghost.

Upon his paternal Grandmother's passing, he found, in his family skeleton, that he had an ancient history in England, documented for almost 1000 years by family, and passed down to her  in a collection of typed and handwritten paperwork that she had kept her whole life.  There he discovered that such greats as William Turner and Sir Thomas Lawrence had painted portraits or dwellings of her family, among other fun facts.  This inspiration shows over quite often, coupled with his exploration of the spirit realm, leading him on several adventures that have fueled his art since he began oil painting later in life at 19. He started exhibiting in 2011.   He has had offers from the street, the film industry, politicians, and curators, some of which he accepted and some of which he declined.  He hopes you find connection and love in his art!
