United States, born 04/10/1979
An artist from New England, dedicates her practice to mixed media portraiture, delving beyond physical likeness to explore the profound internal landscapes of her subjects. Her work weaves dark surreal expressionism, revealing the raw, complex spirit, psychological depth, and often haunting dreamlike qualities that define individual human experience throughout a complex mixture of drawing and painting. Primarily utilizing acrylic, pencil, colored pencil, and charcoal, Knesevich builds intricate layers that mirror the emotional depth and narrative hidden beneath the surface, often juxtaposing bright colors to express an unsettling array of feelings. Knesevich’s work authentically conveys a palpable tension as a recurring theme in the utter rawness captured within the light or conversely the void of the subject’s eyes and stark environment.
