Artwork description
The painting is part of my series called “Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas”.
It is focused on the idea of an existence that is composed of a faulty reality, only an afterimage that our minds create convincing ourselves of a structure; to be able to survive.
We are all the heroes of our very own story, our experience of life, searching constantly for meaning, structure, goals. Only imaginantions of some bizzaro simulacrum. Ripped out of a simple perception our brains developed in.
The realisation of a space between words, a space between thoughts and ideas, in a passing process of over-actualisation every single moment overwriting ourselves, ultimately leaving us in eternal emptiness.
The work is on heavy cotton canvas, acrylic paint and matt fixative.
