Artwork description

This is a self-portrait from my most popular series “Slavic Demonology”. This is a demon called Skarbnik that lives in the caves.
A long time ago people told stories about treasures hidden deep in the mountain caves. They were guarded by various demons that lurked in the darkest corners for daredevils who wanted to get rich quickly. They led them deep into the center of the mountain, from where there was no return.
These demons appeared as slender and pale figures with beautiful faces but terrifying eyes. Their fingers were dirty and their nails were curved like a bear’s. Those were called. These were simply called “the Treasurers”.
