Artwork description
I had a waking vision of a vast wasteland, the soil tarry and toxic, the air chocked with carcinogenic smog, belched forth from colossal columns, piercing the very sky, each baring the stern visage of some long forgotten despotic titan, perhaps the father of this oligarchic, industrial Hell-scape. The second in my “Smokestack Cenotaph” series, this stack is in the form of a cooling tower featuring the faces of four men, each representing an archetypal pillar of a corrupted society: The Magistrate, The Bishop, The General, and The Banker.
