Artwork description

The monarch butterfly flies from Canada to Mexico every year. The butterflies arrive in Mexico between September and October and settle in early November. Their arrival coincides with the time of the greatest celebrations for the deceased, which took place from August to December.
The ancient cultures of the region of Michoacan and Estado de Mexico believed that the soul of the dead was carried by the butterflies. In German-speaking countries we find a similar symbolism to that of Dr. Kübler-Ross, for example.
