A ghostly gentleman goes for a stroll on Halloween Eve. Bare tree branches snake through the misty autumn evening. The damp, chill air hints at the proximity of a river. Lord Fogg strides along the Witch’s Path, clad in a marten coat. The misanthropic Ghost from the dark eighteenth century still haunts the outskirts of Saale. He appears to be a corpse, within whom the infernal flames of Samhain blaze. When the time comes, he surveys his domain. Sometimes he appears bitterly angry with the world, donning a hat that still sends a column of sparks flying, as if leaving a gathering in disappointment, frustrated by the ignorance of some absurd discussion. Sometimes he introduces himself to those he meets, nobly raising his hat in greeting and respect. He is a stern guardian of the witchcraft places of Power, unremarkable to mere mortals, created by nature itself in its incomprehensibility.
