The portrait expresses disinterest, disdain. The world is in trouble but help is not to be found. There is a darkness within.
My art is often political, always evocative. In my latest series, I focus on expressive faces. These works are designed to create a frisson, a feeling of discomfort, an emotional response.
The faces, being distorted, recognisable though not realistic, educe the uncanny valley.
The expressions are dismissive, uncaring, self-centred.
