Artwork description

Booming Psychosis is about how madness doesn’t rot, it blooms.
A grotesque vase-face, grinning, becomes the soil. From its open mouth, a garden grows, but the flowers are wrong. Petals are eyes that watch you, buds are skulls, leaves are tongues, butterflies are fleeting thoughts.
It was inspired by the idea that a psychotic break is not an ending, but a violent flowering. The ugly, repressed part of us is the most fertile. From the monstrous vase comes the most delicate and disturbing beauty.
Everything you see is an intrusive thought that has taken floral form: the clown that laughs at you, the pockmarked moon, the dice of chance, the skull that bares its fangs among the roses.
Ink and dotwork on paper, 60+ hours of obsessive stippling. A garden grown from a sick mind.
