In “Little Black Riding Hood,” I invite the viewer to a forest where innocence was never invited. This work, rendered in acrylic on board, is a dark and perverse subversion of the classic fairy tale. My “Little Black Riding Hood” is no victim and certainly no enemy of the wolf; she is a creature of pure, unashamed desire.
She is an exhibitionist who finds liberation in the shadows of the trees. Crouching with a defiant elegance, she delights in the exposure of her body. Her small, firm breasts overflow from a fetishistic black corset, while her delicately groomed pubis is revealed without a hint of shame. Her attire is not meant to hide, but to accentuate her nakedness through a lens of high-contrast fetishism.
Beside her, the “Big Bad Wolf” is not a threat, but a companion in her darkness. As she strokes his fur, the boundary between the wild and the human blurs. This painting represents the release of the deepest sexual fantasies—a young mother’s journey into the darkness of her own soul, finding beauty and power in the very things society tells her to hide.
