In ‘Nota Mu in the Rain,’ I present a visual shout for freedom. My muse, Nota Mu, wears a strange, succinct garment designed with a single purpose: to amplify her nudity. This piece is a powerful claim of her right to show her nipples and her pubis with absolute pride.
I chose to hide her shoulders and part of her face under a white hood to deliberately direct the viewer’s attention to the areas of the body that, according to prevailing morality, should remain hidden. The thin, wet-look fabric serves only to excite the gaze and emphasize her defiance. Nota Mu is happy to be watched; she is a woman reclaiming her right to uncompromising exhibitionism. She stands before us not as an object, but as a sovereign being, challenging the spectator to look at her without prejudice and to celebrate the raw, natural beauty of the female form in its most liberated state.
