Exterminating Angel from R.L. Crutchfield’s Dark Day is on my top ten list of influencing albums.
In 1980 I discovered the song Trapped on the radio and was catapulted in a desolate, weird but recognizable universe.
The simplicity of the sound and words perfectly reflected my feelings in a hopeless, complex world.
During covid, the album had it ‘s 40th anniversary.
As a tribute I started to paint figures for every song on a selection of my photo’s printed on canvas.
Three of them were nearly finished and all of them had to wait until 2024 to finalize.
It became a series of 14 paintings = 13 songs and one for the album title.
