Artwork description
This work started as a Flightless Birds for the Dark Day series, but I found it incomplete. Then I introduced a “new” old figure and the sound in my head became Nighttime Birds. I saw The Gathering at Graspop Metal Meeting in 1996 and they gave me cold sweat/wet eyes. Such pureness and beauty in so called Symphonic Metal never came back with later very popular bands like Within Temptation or Evanescence. The original sketch of the introduced figure can be found in my art picture book: “Lost Sketches”.
