Artwork description

signed (Left corner) MORIARTY 21

A brutally honest self-portrait of survival after near-fatal injury. The figure, bruised and bloodied, sits upright in a hospital bed surrounded by the objects of care and endurance. A soft toy stares out in silent horror. Beyond the window, the moon glows like a tunnel of death. This work bears witness to trauma, resilience, and the quiet defiance of simply being alive.

As someone who has one eye, specifically my left eye being “gone” and surviving complex post traumatic stress, substance abuse, got clean only to be diagnosed with an extremely rare mitochondrial disease 6 yrs later, this painting is worth more than what you have listed, I’ll just say that. Delicately captured sad soul’s LIVID third eye. 👁️ 🧿 Much love and hopeful healing.

      Dear Kendall,
Thank you kindly for your comment. I’m glad you understand the painting. It was a very painful process. Wishing you health, healing and happiness. It’s hard to put a price on something so raw and personal. I tried my best. 😊 it would help if it sold 🙌
