With this painting I wanted to make the two birds look a little like the leaves in autumn, how they can be fiery orange and almost seem to glow against the light and energy of the colder temperatures.
Autumn symbolizes abundance, wealth, and maturity. It’s the season of harvesting and the time to enjoy the fruits of all your hard work. But the symbolism of autumn also has another side to its coin. It also stands for decline, old age, and death. One could say the autumn tells the story of success and of reaching the end of the road. There is something bittersweet about it.
