Artwork description

This is a painting that grew from some dark moments. I was struggling with staying strong in my own hopes and beliefs and I just felt so tired and fed up. So, I painted a wooden board completely black, and I stared at that black surface for several days. Then the painting started to show itself and some light started to grow out from all the darkness.

The name “Time to leave” came to me at a very early stage of the process. This bird is rising, flying higher and higher and leaving all that behind that no longer is working. The bird is opening up for a new perspective and by doing so also allowing the world around it to show new possibilities.

*Clarification*
The painting is very much “alive”. Depending on what the lighting is, and from which angle you are looking at it, both the colors and the darkness/light varies. The painting can look to be everything from almost black to purple, blue, pink, and gold.
