She is the goddess of the fossil energy that is oil.
The legend says that there was once an energy which was used to make all kinds of mechanical machines work. The inhabitants of the Earth competed to possess this power of nature, which was called black gold. Neehiba spread its black blood in the underground and pulsating veins of the planet. Civilizations tried to stop depending on this precious liquid, but it had the power to draw them deeper and deeper underground to extract it. Today we can still find remnants of this civilization, remnants that prove the existence of this ancient and fearsome Goddess.
