Brazil

My name is Ulisses Tramarin Granados, born in the city of São Paulo, and a graduate of the Pan-American School of Art.

My interest in painting lies in the investigation of portraiture as a field of psychological tension. Engaging with post-war figurative expressionism, the faces emerge from the support like dissolving masks, attempting to make explicit the alienation and deconstruction of identity in contemporary Burnout Society. The focus is on capturing a collapsing mental state. I am interested in painting anxiety, the social mask falling away, the exact moment when the human being dissolves from within.
